Welcome to the world of Norman Lloyd (1895 - 1983), the largely forgotten Australian landscape painter. Lloyd lived in London from the 1930s onwards and spent many summers in France, travelling also to Italy, Turkey and Morocco.

In recent times, Lloyd's work has not enjoyed the recognition it deserves. This website for the first time brings together the biography and works of this artist, making his life and paintings accessible to worldwide audience, and re-introducing his beautiful works.
You will find the most recent discoveries on Lloyd's life in London, where his circle included war correspondent Hamilton Fyffe, pianist Nancy Weir and artists William Dobell, Will Ashton, Alison Rehfisch and George Duncan.

New information about Lloyd's early reception in Australia is published in the section Press 1920_1933 and information on later exhibitions in the US from the 1980s onwards has been added, both thanks to the contribution of Gene Amend. A personal account by writer Gillian Tindall now reveals Noman Lloyd's 'other' life in France where he spent many fruitful years painting the French country life.

However, there are still many unknowns. If you can help with new insights,
we would love to hear from you. Email us on info@normanlloyd.com.au or contact Banziger Hulme Fine Art Consultants, phone + 61 2 9977 0700, fax +61 2 9977 0690.
